Confessions of a Coffee Snob

Oh how I love my coffee! See you Monday morning…coffee in hand!

Writings of a Mrs Mommy

Ok be forewarned I will sound like a complete snob here but we all have our flaws right?

So the other morning we were out of coffee.  *Gasp* As I’m sure you can imagine, the Mr. and I drink coffee to help us peel open our eyes and function in the morning.  I walk almost blindly, with my hands waving in front of me to not bang into or trip on anything (especially children that would be bad) to the espresso machine and robotically perform the same exact function every morning.

Deep fried pickles, the love story…(don’t judge me)

So I have a new found love and it is so fantastically yummy that I had to share our story *sigh*.  I’ve  always had a fondness for pickles but add the deep fried yummy batter and sour cream and *swoon* I’m a goner…

So move over Mr. of a Mrs. and let’s welcome in the Deep Fried Pickle!

There is a fantastic restaurant or ‘greasy spot’ just off the highway near where I live.  You know one of those restaurants that looks not so hot from the outside but the food is to die for?  Ya, it’s one of those places. Continue reading

Nikki’s surgery went well!

ImageA little medical humor to lighten up the mood!
Nikki is doing well and headed home today.
Thank you for all of the support and encouragement.

Teenaged surgery…

So my eldest baby girl, Nikki (17) is going in for surgery on Monday morning she will be in the hospital for 2 days.

She has asymmetrical enlarged tonsils with no indication of infection (mono, strep, tonsillitis etc.)  They will be removing them and then doing a biopsy to see if there are any abnormal cells….

Needless to say I’m a little bit of a mess.  Playing it cool and strong for her but really I’m feeling rather weak and vulnerable.

This quote is more for me than anyone else right now!

Any tips or pointers out there from other parents that have gone through medically stressful situations with their young adults?

Any tips or pointers to share would be grateful.

Keep us in your thoughts this week please.

Thanks,
